Every RetroKitten issue, the staff selects a Derby Girl from our constantly growing database that we think had a special or unique style. These members range from seasoned veterans of the roller derby scene to wet behind the ears newcomers. There is no specific quality that we look for other than a sense of style and a personality that is captured in their work.
Our Featured Derby Girl receives nothing other than a moment in the spot light, and our gratitude for making the scene more interesting. Alternative art is a hard hobby, and an even more difficult career choice. Our hats go off to anyone who manages to make a large ripple in our small pond!
Remember, RetroKitten is about networking, and finding solutions beyond the mainstream. After all, we aren't mainstream, and we know we aren't. We want to help each other as much as possible.
